You'll help young people feel confident and healthy through fun outdoor and wellbeing activities.
This will include running sessions to support young people to try new things, and creating a safe space where everyone feels welcome. No experience needed – just the right attitude and enthusiasm.
What it will involve?
You'll help young people aged 8-19 (up to 25 with additional needs) enjoy outdoor activities and feel good about themselves. Here's what that looks like:
Some of the tasks you might be doing include:
Plan and run outdoor, nature-based, and wellbeing sessions
Encouraging young people to join in and try new things
Creating a welcoming space where everyone feels listened to and safe, and adapting activities so everyone can take part
Building positive relationships and being a role model
Working with volunteers and your team to deliver great sessions
Is this role right for me?
You might love this role if you enjoy working with people and being part of a team, are interested in outdoor activities or supporting young people's wellbeing, want to build confidence and work experience, care about fairness and inclusion, and are willing to learn and try new things.
What skills will I use?
Being friendly, approachable, and communicating well with young people
Working as part of a team and supporting others
Being creative and coming up with ideas for activities
Staying calm, reliable, and positive as a role model
Being organised and following guidance to keep everyone safe
How will I be helping protect our environment?
Through nature-based and outdoor activities, you'll help young people connect with the natural world and appreciate their local environment. By running outdoor sessions, you're encouraging young people to spend time in nature, building their awareness and care for green spaces while promoting wellbeing through being active outside.
What’s great about working here
We're honest, enthusiastic, non-judgemental, and celebrate every young person's progress. You'll get full training and support, work in a friendly team, and see the real impact you make. We welcome applications from all backgrounds.
Where could this role take me?
You'll gain hands-on youth work experience that could lead to roles in youth services, outdoor education, wellbeing support, or community work. Develop skills in activity planning, safeguarding, and working with diverse groups. This role is perfect for building your confidence, CV, and understanding of whether youth work is for you.
