Host a placement in Bristol and the West of England
What’s on this page:
We’re looking for environmental organisations who can help us create entry-level opportunities for young people to work in the environmental sector.
We aim to create at least 40 placements in 2025, all working on the front-line of efforts to protect our natural environment and mitigate human-led climate change.
These will all be based in Bristol and the West of England Combined Authority, including Bath, North East Somerset and South Gloucestershire.
We especially want to give marginalised young people the chance to kickstart their environmental careers, with additional support to ensure they are able to overcome structural barriers to a good green career.
Host organisations will benefit from a tailored package of support, including:
Helping you create accessible entry-level placements for young people, promoting them within our networks of diverse, passionate, and talented young people, and (where applicable) subsidising salary costs.
Making sure trainees can thrive in their role, with a bespoke learning and support programme, including a pre-employment induction, dedicated youth coaches, peer consulting, and ongoing soft skills development.
Capacity-building at your organisation, with expert-led sessions to help you create more inclusive, youth-focused environments that can nurture future environmental leaders.
Where applicable, access to wage subsidies to support up to 80% of salary costs for your trainee.
