This role will be to be the guardian of Bristol Water's stunning Mendip lakes, protecting wildlife and keeping visitors safe. You’ll work outdoors every day caring for endangered species like white-clawed crayfish, transferring young eels, and managing biosecurity. Perfect if you're starting out in conservation with a love for nature and being outside.

What it will involve?
You'll spend your days protecting the lakes and the wildlife that depends on them. Some of the tasks you might be doing include:

  • Monitoring endangered crayfish and help with conservation projects

  • Transfering young eels to help them migrate upstream

  • Checking for invasive species and maintain biosecurity facilities

  • Chatting with visitors to answer any questions

  • Putting up signs, maintaining fences, and keeping the sites tidy

Your work helps ensure clean water supplies while creating thriving natural spaces where birds, mammals, and aquatic life flourish.
