Our plans for the future

Our next goal is to have created 500 new paid placements by 2027. We’re ambitious, and want to drive real change across the environmental sector.

To get there we’re focusing in two key areas:

  • Developing a regional programme in Bristol starting in 2025

  • Building political support for a Youth Environmental Service

Bristol and the West of England programme

Building on the success of our New to Nature pilot, our focus is now on developing a regional programme in the West of England, to be delivered in 2025.

The programme will create at least 40 entry-level, paid opportunities for 18-25 year olds to undertake a range of environmental work at a diverse range of organisations based in and around Bristol, with a focus on the following areas:

  • Nature recovery and urban greening

  • Low-carbon energy transition

  • Sustainable built environment

  • Climate resilience

  • Circular economy

  • Nature-friendly food and farming

  • Green transport systems

We want to provide life-changing experiences for young people starting their careers in the environmental sector.

Our focus is on helping young people to overcome the barriers they face in accessing paid environmental work.
